No humanity without generosity

Listening, helping and showing ourselves to be more attentive, simple, but so complicated

We measure and evaluate 14 dimensions that frame the notion of humanity. For each of them, we determine two things: its influence and its strength. The observation is relentless. It was the case in 2024, and it is still the case in 2026. Generosity is THE dimension that most strongly influences our perception of humanity.

When we talk about generosity, we refer to our collective willingness to support the most vulnerable, to contribute to reducing poverty gaps and social inequalities. We are talking about helping, listening, and showing ourselves to be more attentive to others. And yes, also, about contributing financially to causes.

Influential, but not very strong

While generosity is the most influential of the 14 dimensions, it is not the most strongly evaluated. In fact, it occupies the 9th rank out of 14. Just because a dimension is strongly evaluated does not mean it has an influence in the same proportion. The reverse is also true. The case of generosity is a fine example.

Generosity, a quick and easy lever to increase our humanity

We often hear it said that our humanity is in peril, that we are helpless, that we can do nothing about it; this is false. By showing ourselves, individually, to be more generous, we contribute, collectively, to the improvement of our humanity. Yet, it is quite simple. It is enough to start moving, to act, and to get involved. The I must be more at the service of the WE, rather than the reverse.

But everything that is simple sometimes seems quite complicated.
